Overview

The Berlin Study Tour is a 3-week immersive experience with a focus on the world of film and screen production. The study tour starts with a few days in Prague, which includes a visit to the Prague Film School, FAMU. Students will travel by train from Prague to Berlin to attend the 76th Berlinalé Film Festival as accredited guests of the film festival, including access to the European Film Market (EFM) and Berlinalé Talents. Other study tour highlights include tours of Studio Babelsberg (Potsdam), Film School visits and the opportunity to visit historical places of interest, art galleries and museums in the culturally rich cities of Prague and Berlin.

Highlights/tentative itinerary

Berlin Study Tour 2027 - Preliminary itinerary (may be subject to change)
2 – 6 February: Prague

Prague Welcome Dinner

• Group visit to the Prague Castle and places of interest / muesums 

• Visit to FAMU (Prague Film School) and a tour of their studio facilities and screenings 

6 February: travel by train Prague – Berlin
7 – 20 February: Berlin

• Berlin Welcome Dinner

• Berlin orientation and sightseeing

• Visit German film schools including Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB) and/ or Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts & Technology (TBC)

• Travel to Potsdam to visit Studio Babelsberg and Konrad Wolf Film School

• Berlinalé Accreditation - pick up festival passes and orientation festival venues

76th Berlin International Film Festival dates: 10 - 20 February

• Attend Berlinalé film screenings and associated events

• Visit the European Film Market

• Berlin Farewell Dinner

• 20 February: Last day of the Study Tour

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Film & Television (Honours). Bachelor of Screen Production students are also eligible to apply.
