What is a Confirmation of Enrolment?

If you are an international student, you will receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) after you have accepted your offer of admission from Swinburne, pay your university deposit, and organised your Overseas Student Health Cover (if applicable).

Your CoE contains information about you and the course you will be studying, including the cost and duration. It confirms that you have accepted the offer and are enrolled in a course at Swinburne. You will need your CoE to apply for your student visa.

CoE for continuing students

As an international student, you need to apply for a new CoE from Swinburne if you cannot complete your course within the original timeline (for example if you took a leave of absence or had to redo a unit).

If your course duration changes, you may also need to apply for a new student visa before your current visa expires. This is not an automatic process and only permitted in certain circumstances as defined by the Department of Home Affairs. There may be restrictions on applying for further visas while you are in Australia.

CoE for deferring students

Deferring an offer – All applications for deferral for international students are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

International Students who are approved to defer will require a variation offer letter for next available intake, pay any additional OSHC applicable and a variation of CoE will need to be issued to the international student to apply for a visa for the deferred intake.
