Professor Simon Ridings started at Swinburne in September 2022.
Most recently, Professor Ridings was the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, and Chief Academic Officer. He has also held the role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor, External Engagement.

Professor Ridings has been a Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Edith Cowan University, the University of Canberra and Curtin University with a focus on global engagement.
Simon has held academic and executive leadership roles in both business and health sciences faculties, and he holds a PhD from the University of Queensland.
An experienced executive, Simon has devised, developed and managed innovative education partnerships across sectors.
He has been at the forefront of collaborative and commercial developments in dual-sector delivery, higher education pathways, service procurement and partner performance management.
He has previously held the role of President of the sector's largest professional body – the International Education Association of Australia – and is an experienced board member and company director of numerous education enterprises.
